Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering is a four-year undergraduate degree in mechatronics engineering.
BE, BS or BSc Engineering?
Pakistani universities award the four-year undergraduate engineering degree under several names — BE, BS Engineering and BSc Engineering. They are equivalent in substance and duration, and what matters for professional practice is Pakistan Engineering Council accreditation of the specific programme, not the letters in the title.
What You’ll Study
Coursework covers mechanics and machine design, electronics and microcontrollers, sensors and actuators, control systems, robotics, industrial automation and PLC programming, with laboratory work and a final-year design project.
Career Scope in Pakistan
Graduates work in industrial automation and PLC/SCADA systems, process control, robotics development, instrumentation, defence and aerospace systems, and automotive electronics.
Automation demand grows as manufacturers modernise, and mechatronics graduates sit exactly at the mechanical-electronic-software intersection the work requires.
Engineering programmes in Pakistan should be accredited by the Pakistan Engineering Council, since PEC registration is expected for professional practice. Accreditation attaches to a specific programme at a specific university, so verify the status of the exact programme before enrolling.
Admission Requirements
FSc Pre-Engineering or an equivalent qualification with Physics and Mathematics, plus the engineering entrance test used by the university. Merit combines intermediate results with test performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a BE the same as a BS Engineering degree?
Yes in substance — Pakistani universities use BE, BS Engineering and BSc Engineering for the same four-year qualification. What matters professionally is PEC accreditation of the specific programme, not the title format.
Does this degree qualify for PEC registration?
It should where the specific programme and campus hold Pakistan Engineering Council accreditation. Accreditation is granted per programme per university, so verify the exact programme with the university and PEC before enrolling.
