Privacy Policy

This page describes what UniAssist collects when you visit. In short: very little.

What we do not collect

  • No accounts. Visitor registration is disabled. There is nothing to sign up for and no profile to create.
  • No analytics or tracking. This site loads no analytics service, no advertising pixels and no third-party tracking scripts.
  • No comments. Commenting is closed sitewide, so no names, email addresses or IP addresses are collected that way.
  • No application forms or trackers. Aside from the contact form described below, nothing on this site submits personal information to us.

The contact form

The one place this site collects personal information is the contact form. If you use it, we store the name, email address and message you enter, any link you supply, and the IP address the submission came from. Nothing on that form is required except a name, an email address and a message.

We keep it for one reason: to read your message and reply to it. The IP address is stored only so repeated abuse of the form can be traced and blocked. None of it is used for marketing, profiling or anything else, and none of it is sold or shared.

Submissions are stored in this site’s own database and are visible only to the site administrator. If you would like a message you sent to be deleted, ask through the same form and we will remove it.

Search and filters

The directory filters and the site search work by putting your selections in the page address — for example a province or a subject. Those choices are used to build the page you asked for and are not stored against you or linked to any identifier.

Server logs

Like effectively every website, the server that hosts UniAssist keeps standard access logs recording the address requested, the time, the referring page, and the browser and IP address making the request. These are ordinary technical records used to keep the site running and to investigate faults or abuse. They are not used to build a profile of you.

Cookies

UniAssist sets no tracking or advertising cookies. WordPress, the software this site runs on, sets cookies only for users who log in to administer it — which does not apply to ordinary visitors.

Links to other sites

We link extensively to universities, regulators and official admissions portals, because those are the authoritative sources for what we publish. Once you follow such a link you are on someone else’s site, governed by their privacy practices, not ours. We have no control over what they collect.

If this changes

If analytics, advertising or any form of tracking is ever added to this site, this page will be updated to say so before or at the time it happens, and the date below will change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does UniAssist use cookies?

No tracking or advertising cookies. WordPress sets cookies only for administrators who log in, which does not apply to ordinary visitors.

Does UniAssist track visitors or use analytics?

No. The site loads no analytics service, advertising pixel or third-party tracking script. The only records kept are the standard server access logs that any web host maintains.

What happens to information I send through the contact form?

Your name, email address, message, any link you supply and the submitting IP address are stored in this site's database so we can read and reply to your message. The IP address is kept only so repeated abuse can be traced. Nothing is used for marketing or shared with anyone, and you can ask us to delete a message you sent.
