Associate Degree in Information Technology and Management (ADP)

ADP Information Technology and Management is a two-year associate degree in information Technology and Management, designed both as a standalone qualification and as a route into the third year of a four-year bachelor’s programme.

Entry requirements

Entry is based on HSSC (Intermediate) or an equivalent qualification. Because an associate degree is designed to articulate into the third year of a four-year bachelor’s, confirm with the institution which bachelor’s programmes accept it for transfer and how many credits carry across before enrolling.

Accreditation

Computing programmes may hold National Computing Education Accreditation Council accreditation, which is the programme-level quality check in this field. Note that a computing degree is not an engineering degree: only programmes titled and accredited as computer or software engineering lead to PEC registration.

What it leads to

An associate degree functions both as a terminal qualification for support and technician-level roles and as a transfer route into the third year of a four-year bachelor’s. If progression is the intention, confirm the articulation arrangement in writing before enrolling, because credit transfer is agreed institution by institution rather than centrally.

Comparing institutions

Fees for the same degree title vary several-fold between Pakistani institutions, and course content varies with them. Ask each university for the full per-semester fee schedule across the whole degree rather than the first instalment, and for the current course outline — UniAssist lists which universities teach this degree, but the detailed curriculum is set institutionally and the university’s own prospectus is the authoritative source for it.
