BSc (Honours) Economics, Data and Computer Science is a four-year interdisciplinary joint major built around data-driven decision-making. It combines economic reasoning, statistical and data science methods, and computer science fundamentals — an unusually well-targeted combination for the roles employers are actually hiring for.

What You’ll Study

Around 130 credit hours spanning three areas: economics (micro, macro, econometrics), data and statistics (probability, statistical inference, machine learning), and computer science (programming, data structures, databases). The point of the combination is being able to frame a problem economically, handle the data competently, and build the tooling yourself rather than depending on someone else to do it.

This maps directly onto some of the better-paid analytical work available: data science and analytics roles are commonly cited in the PKR 80,000-200,000 per month range by public salary-data platforms, ahead of generalist business or economics positions. Graduates are positioned for data analyst and data scientist roles, fintech and banking analytics, product analytics at technology companies, quantitative research, and policy analysis at organisations that work with large datasets.

Admission Requirements

Intermediate or A-Levels (or an IBCC-certified equivalent), plus the admission test used by the university concerned — LUMS runs its own SAT-style paper-based test and also accepts SAT scores.
