BS Special Education is a four-year undergraduate degree preparing teachers and specialists to work with children and adults with disabilities and additional learning needs.
What You’ll Study
Coursework covers foundations of special education, characteristics and assessment of specific disabilities including intellectual, hearing, visual and physical impairment and learning difficulties, inclusive education practice, individualised education planning, behaviour management, assistive technology, and supervised teaching practice.
Career Scope in Pakistan
Provision for disability in Pakistani education remains limited relative to need, and there is a documented shortage of trained special educators. Graduates work in special education schools and institutes, inclusive education roles in mainstream schools, early intervention and assessment services, disability-focused NGOs and rehabilitation programmes, government special education departments, and assistive technology and resource development.
This is vocational work with clear social value and steady, if modestly paid, demand. Specialisation in a specific area — autism support, hearing impairment, learning difficulties — strengthens employability, as does capability in assessment and individualised programme design.
Admission Requirements
Intermediate or an equivalent qualification, plus the admission test used by the university concerned. Check each university’s admissions page for the current cycle.
