BS Business Analytics is a four-year undergraduate degree combining business fundamentals with data analysis — statistics, data visualisation, predictive modelling and the tooling used to turn organisational data into decisions. It exists because businesses increasingly hold more data than they can interpret.
Business Analytics vs. BBA vs. Data Science
A BBA is broad management education with limited quantitative depth. A Data Science degree is heavily technical, closer to computer science and statistics. Business Analytics sits deliberately between them: enough technical capability to work with data directly, enough business grounding to know which questions are worth asking. That middle position is its strength — and the reason to be clear about which side you want to lean toward before choosing.
What You’ll Study
Programmes typically run around 136 credit hours. Coursework covers business statistics, data management and databases, predictive analytics and machine learning basics, data visualisation and reporting, programming for analytics, and operations research, alongside core business subjects — accounting, finance, marketing and operations.
Career Scope & Salary in Pakistan
Graduates work as business and data analysts, in marketing and customer analytics, financial and risk analysis, operations and supply chain analytics, and business intelligence roles. Banking, telecom, FMCG and e-commerce are the most active recruiters, since all four generate large transactional datasets.
Analytics roles pay above generalist business positions: public salary platforms commonly cite data-focused roles in Pakistan at PKR 80,000-200,000 per month, against roughly PKR 60,000-120,000 for entry-level general business roles. Practical fluency in SQL, Excel at a genuinely advanced level, and a visualisation tool such as Power BI or Tableau is what employers actually test for.
