BS Zoology Scope in Pakistan: Universities and Fees

Quick Facts

Degree Level	BS
Discipline	Biology, Zoology
Offered By	82 universities in our directory
Typical Duration	4 years

BS Zoology is a four-year undergraduate degree studying animals — their structure, physiology, genetics, behaviour, classification and ecology — from invertebrates through vertebrates including humans.

What You’ll Study

Coursework covers animal diversity and systematics, comparative anatomy and physiology, cell and molecular biology, genetics and evolution, ecology and wildlife biology, parasitology and entomology, and developmental biology, with laboratory dissection and field work.

Career Scope in Pakistan

Destinations include wildlife and conservation organisations and national parks, fisheries and aquaculture, entomology and pest management — significant given agricultural pest pressure — parasitology and public health work, veterinary and animal health support, museums and zoological collections, environmental consultancy, and teaching.

An honest assessment: direct zoology employment in Pakistan is narrower than for microbiology or biochemistry, and a substantial share of graduates enter teaching or continue to postgraduate study. The strongest applied routes are entomology and pest management, fisheries, and parasitology, all of which connect to agriculture and public health where funded work actually exists. Wildlife and conservation roles are competitive relative to the number of positions.

Admission Requirements

Intermediate (FSc/ICS) or an equivalent qualification in a relevant group, plus the admission or aptitude test used by the university concerned. Merit is normally calculated from academic record and test score. Check each university’s admissions page for the current cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the scope of Zoology in Pakistan?

Wildlife and conservation organisations, fisheries and aquaculture, entomology and pest management, parasitology and public health, veterinary and animal health support, museums, environmental consultancy and teaching. Entomology, fisheries and parasitology are the strongest applied routes.

Is Zoology a good degree for jobs?

Direct employment is narrower than for microbiology or biochemistry, and many graduates enter teaching or postgraduate study. Applied specialisations connected to agriculture and public health — entomology, pest management, fisheries and parasitology — offer the clearest routes.
