The BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) is a four-year undergraduate business degree covering the core functions of management — accounting, finance, marketing, operations, human resources and strategy. It is the broadest and most widely offered business degree in Pakistan.
What You’ll Study
Programmes typically run around 130-140 credit hours. Core coursework covers financial and management accounting, principles of management and organisational behaviour, marketing, corporate finance, operations and supply chain, business statistics, economics, business law and strategic management. Most programmes allow a specialisation in the final year — commonly finance, marketing, human resources or supply chain — and many include an internship.
BBA vs. Other Business Degrees
A BBA is deliberately broad, which is its strength and its weakness. Compared with a BSc in Accounting and Finance it is less technical and less directly aligned to professional accountancy qualifications; compared with a Management Science degree it is less quantitative and analytics-heavy. Choose a BBA if you want breadth and flexibility across business functions, and a specialised degree if you already know which function you want.
Career Scope & Salary in Pakistan
BBA graduates enter management trainee programmes at banks, FMCG companies and multinationals — still one of the most structured graduate entry routes in Pakistan — along with sales and brand management, banking and financial services, human resources, supply chain and operations, and business development. Many also go on to an MBA after some years of work.
Reported entry-level business graduate salaries commonly fall in the PKR 60,000-120,000 per month range, with banking and finance entry roles often higher at around PKR 80,000-150,000, and mid-career figures of roughly PKR 100,000-180,000 at three to five years of experience. Outcomes vary considerably by business school reputation, since recruiting pipelines differ sharply between institutions. These are aggregated estimates from public salary sources.
Admission Requirements
Intermediate or A-Levels (or an IBCC-certified equivalent), plus the admission test used by the university concerned. Competitive business schools weight quantitative reasoning and English proficiency heavily. Check each university’s admissions page for the current cycle.
